EDPA Educational Workshop
The EDPA is pleased to announce a free to attend hands-on workshop, focused on professional development, mentorship, and the EDPA certification pathway.
This event will combine live-horse dentistry, certification observation, and a wet lab for skill development, making it valuable for providers at all stages of their career.
LIVE-HORSE DENTISTRY
Certified EDPA members, licensed members, and veterinary members will be performing dentistry on live horses throughout the day. This portion of the workshop will:
- Demonstrate a variety of techniques and approaches.
- Showcase the level and quality of work expected for EDPA certification.
- Encourage professional discussion and peer learning.
CERTIFICATION OBSERVATION & MENTORSHIP
Members interested in becoming certified are strongly encouraged to attend and observe the live-horse cases. Observation provides valuable insight into:
- How certified providers approach cases.
- Case presentation, technique, and decision-making.
- The standard of care expected during certification.
WET-LAB FOR UNCERTIFIED MEMBERS
A wet lab will be available for uncertified members, allowing hands-on work with skulls under direct instruction. This portion will include:
- Technique and anatomy review.
- Detailed instruction on the EDPA certification process.
- Clear explanation of certification requirements and expectations.
Our goal is to make the certification process approachable, transparent, and achievable, while continuing to raise the standard of equine dentistry within the EDPA.
